1:4 F2, was also on the
east baulk near the northeast corner of the unit and
comprised three pieces of limestone protruding from
the baulk. The soil in this area was of a slightly different
colour (5YR 4/4) to the surrounding matrix and
within the feature ceramic sherds were found (cat.
469). The soil is only very slightly different from the
surrounding matrix. In F2, beneath a fist-sized piece of
limestone, some poorly preserved bone was encountered
and some earthenware ceramic sherds (cat. 486).
There appeared to be another feature contained within
1:4 F2 and this was labelled as 1:4 F3.
