Site 112

Napho A, Napho Village (Houyhia Area) Quarry site. This site was visited and geolocated by Skopal and Bounxayhip in 2020. They recorded a quarry site of five unfinished jars across three groups positioned along a stream across a distance of ca. 120m. The first group contains one jar surrounded by large granite outcrops and adjacent to the stream. Locals reported that there is another jar in close proximity, which could not be located during fieldwork. The second group of three unfinished jars is ca. 125m to the Northwest, in the bed of the stream. Approximately ca. 50m Northeast is the final group which contains one unfinished jar, standing up right surrounded by large granite outcrops. The jars in both Groups 2 and 3 appear to have been carved out of large boulders in their original position within the stream, and not moved to more suitable position for working.
